We take your safety very seriously at DateME Kenya by making every effort to ensure our site remains a secure, relaxed environment for you to meet other like-minded members.
Your first step should be to read our Terms & Conditions thoroughly, paying close attention to terms no. 3 and 4. Remember, YOU are responsible for all your actions and DateME Kenya will not tolerate misuse. Anyone found misusing the site will be removed immediately, with no refund given.
The key to staying safe is to limit the amount of personal information you give to other members. Information like your full name, telephone number, email address, postal address, Facebook page, etc should NEVER be disclosed to other menbers. Only once you have dated someone several times and feel 100% confident with them should you even consider sharing any personal information.
With this in mind, please re-read any profile updates or messages you send to other members. It's embarrassingly easy to slip up and disclose your personal details.
If you ever feel uneasy about another member, a profile, a picture, a discussion, an event or anything to do with the site then do not hesitate to report the issue right away.
Messaging and flirting can be fun and exciting, but please do not get carried away. Remember never to give anyone personal information.
Always stick to the DateME messaging system! It's safe, secure and recorded (so should anything go wrong then we can clearly see the issue and resolve it).
Although our members are personally vetted, you should be very wary if you find another member is:
Sometimes you may come across another member you would rather not hear from again. Blocking this member means that they will no longer be able to view your profile, message you, wink at you, or view your photos.
To block a member simply go to their profile and click the ‘block’ icon on the right hand side.
Should you wish to report them for anything then please do so, we take all issues very seriously and will do our best to resolve them as soon as possible.
This is a dating site and after some time you’ll want to share some contact details with potential dates. We advise members to create a free email account (Gmail or Yahoo) for emails (and don't use your full name in the email address!) and use a phone number that you can easily change or some phones allow you to simply block your number from appearing on someone else's phone. Stay private until you feel 100% comfortable!
After messaging and talking with someone online, the next step is to arrange a ‘date’. This could consist of one of your ‘DateME Ideas’ or just a quick meet up for a coffee/drink in a busy café. Always use your common sense, take all your usual precautions and, if it gets to the point of exchanging contact details, remember to use your new ones (see above).
When arranging a date location, make sure you are familiar with the location and you are totally happy with the choice. If someone you meet online is seriously interested in you, they will want you to feel completely safe and will be happy for you to apply a few common sense ‘rules’ when you meet.
Only arrange a date when you are 100% comfortable with the potential candidate. If you are not quite ready, then simple say this and take your time getting to know the other person better.
Things to keep in mind when dating:
We want your time with us to be highly enjoyable. Don't lose your enjoyment through another member's actions, such as:
Don't hesitate to get in touch with us either directly or by reporting the member. Each profile, picture, event and discussion has a 'Report ' option on it (looks like a mini megaphone); click on this, let us know why you are reporting it and we will act fast.
